DETROIT -

Firefighters from around the world were in Detroit on Friday for the premiere of "Burn," a documentary chronicling the lives of Detroit firefighters.

The film was created by filmmakers Tom Putnam and Brenna Sanchez and funded entirely through charitable donations.

On Friday, hundreds gathered for the premiere at the Fillmore in downtown Detroit.

A portion of the profits will go to the Leary Firefighters Foundation to buy equipment for Detroit firefighters.

The movie will open in New York and Los Angeles later this year.
