Firefighters wear, sell T-shirts for cancer funds
Two fire departments to wear pink T-shirts under their gear in October
Firefighters with two departments in Jackson County are wearing pink T-shirts under their fire gear in October to raise money for breast cancer research.
They're also selling pink T-shirts, sweat shirts and crew shirts for the cause.
Union president Tom Loveberry of the Jackson fire department tells the Jackson Citizen Patriot they came up with the idea last year and ended up donating $1,100 to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure foundation.
Meanwhile, Summit Township firefighters donated $2,000 to two U.S. Postal Service workers who were battling cancer.
Loveberry says Jackson firefighters sold out of shirts during August's Relay for Life and were having a new batch printed.
