First presidential debate: The local voters
So did tonight’s debate change any minds? For the partisan absolutely not. For the ever elusive independent voter who is undecided at this juncture, neither candidate sealed the deal.
“I wish I could say based on this debate I’ve decided who I’m going to vote for but the bottom line is I really think both did well,” said Timothy Ernest. Ernest voted for Obama in 2008 but now he’s still undecided.
Students like Nancy Ortiz say all the budget talk was fine but there are other issues she’s interested in “right now I’m interested in a debate on immigration”.
Ortiz was one of four dozen students and faculty who attended a debate watch party at the university’s school of social work.
