Flames rip through vacant apartment building in Detroit
Firefighters battle flames, frigid temperatures on Detroit's east side

Firefighters spent much of Monday morning battling a huge fire that broke out on Detroit’s east side.
The fire started around 3:30 at Forest Avenue and Newport Streets. It took over an hour to completely put out the flames. According to fire officials, it was a vacant apartment building and no one was injured in the fire. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
