DETROIT -

A group of organizations and unions is sponsoring the Community Voter Education Forums, a series of twelve events that will be held at six locations across Detroit on Saturday.

Organizers said the goal of the forums is to inform voters about statewide proposals on the November 6 ballot, and that all sides have been invited to represent their perspectives.

The first forum at each location will be from 10 a.m. until noon. The second forum at each location will be from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m.

The events will feature a detailed explanation of the ballot on which voters will cast their votes on Election Day. Representatives from each of the six statewide ballot proposals will explain the language and answer questions.

Organizers said they suggest voters attend the forum nearest their home or job.

"Our primary goal of the forums is to educate voters about the proposals that will appear on the ballot so they can make the decision they feel is best for their families and their community when they step into that voting booth on November 6th," said Erica Hill, coordinator for Victory Detroit 2012, the organizers of the forums.
