Freeze warning issued for tonight
Breezy Saturday with chilly temperatures
The National Weather Service has issued a Freeze Warning from midnight to 8:00 AM for all of southeast Michigan except for Wayne and Monroe Counties.
Expect partly to mostly cloudy skies, with highs only reaching the low 50s. Saturday will be a breezy day with West winds blowing at 15 to 20 mph, with gusts possibly between 20 and 30 mph. There's only a slight chance for a sprinkle or brief light shower, with the best chance being up in the Thumb. Most of us should see a dry day.
Temperatures at first pitch should be around 50, and steadily dropping through the 40s during the game.
A cold, dry airmass moving in from Wisconsin will drop temperatures tonight into the low 30s in many areas. Tender vegetation, including most summer annuals, may be killed in areas that reach freezing (32 degrees).
Some of you, especially in the far rural or northern areas, may see some frost by morning. Sunday should be similar to Saturday, with partly to mostly cloudy skies, and highs in the low 50s. It will be another chilly one at Comerica Park, although Sunday's game starts at 12:07 p.m. so you'll at least be enjoying the "warmest" temperatures of the day at the game.
