Inkster District Court Judge Sylvia James awaits decision on her career after misconduct charge
Michigan Judicial Tenure Commission, Supreme Court will decide if James is pulled from office
District Court Judge Sylvia James must now await to find out if she will be removed from office.
The Inkster judge was found guilty of misconduct and misusing public money last month.
She claimed the allegations against her were political. She was found guilty on seven ethics counts.
The Michigan Judicial Tenure Commission on Monday heard arguments for and against James’ removal from the bench.
The commission will make its recommendation public in four to five weeks.
The Michigan Supreme Court will have the final say.
