Inkster police said they’re now investigating their seventh homicide since July -- when a handful police officer layoffs went into effect.
Police said they were called to the 27500 block of Moore Circle Sunday night and found a 28-year-old man dead from multiple gunshot wounds.
The Inkster City Council earlier this year voted to cut millions from the Police Department budget, laying off at least 21 officers. Police say the slim staff has left them with little ability to do any preventative policing.
