A Detroit-area woman's law suit seeking more than $8,000 from a Washington man she met on Facebook has been dismissed.
A Livonia district court judge ruled Monday that she has no jurisdiction in the case.
Cheryl Gray of Livonia filed the suit in May against 35-year-old Wylie Iwan of Kennewick, Wash., claiming misrepresentation and defamation of character.
The 50-year-old Gray says an online relationship was started after they met while playing the game, Mafia Wars.
The relationship was ended by Iwan after about six months when Gray was to fly out and see him. Gray is asking to be repaid for items she bought him before the split.
Iwan didn't appear at Monday's hearing. Defense lawyer Julian Poota says Gray argued "the personal relationship constituted doing business in Michigan."
