A Kalamazoo firefighter was hurt when a home's porch collapsed and he was trapped under the rubble.

The city's public safety department says the officer was taken to Bronson Methodist Hospital and released with minor injuries to his back and legs.

He was hurt Sunday while responding to the burning house.

According to the Kalamazoo Gazette, residents required treatment for smoke inhalation.
