Light snow coming to Metro Detroit on Christmas Eve

Clouds increasing and light snow develops in afternoon, temperatures in the low 30s

DETROIT – Merry Christmas! We'll start today with some sun, but clouds will increase during the morning and light snow will develop by mid-to-late afternoon.

Those of you further north will see a much smaller chance of Christmas Eve snow than those in the heart of the Metro Area. Accumulations should be light…probably less than an inch. Highs today in the low 30s, with temperatures only falling slowly during the evening.

Christmas Day will feature mostly sunny skies, with highs in the mid 30s. Then our attention turns to a bigger storm that will brush us on Wednesday.

Check: Traffic conditions

The strong winter storm will bring snow Wednesday afternoon into Wednesday night.  Right now, it looks as if we'll see a 3-6" swath of snow across southeast Michigan, with the heavier amounts occurring the further south you go.  It's going to become windy as well, so blowing snow will be a problem

We could potentially see several inches of snow from this storm…keep JustWeather.com on your desktop and check back often. And if you're traveling, don't forget that JustWeather.com's travel weather page is the best you'll see anywhere…and you can check it on your mobile device anytime!
