Lincoln Park Fire Department to offer lock boxes to senior citizens

Lock boxes would help first responders get inside senior's home if it is locked

LINCOLN PARK, Mich. – The Lincoln Park Fire Department plans to launch a special lock box program to help safely respond to the homes of senior citizens.

Under the program, lock boxes would be place on the front doors of qualifying homes with a front door key locked inside.

The fire department would then have the only key to open the box in the event of an emergency.

The program targets disabled elderly people, and those who may live alone.

There are currently 25 boxes available for those who think they need the assistance.

Applications are available at the Lincoln Park Fire Department.
