LATHRUP VILLAGE, Mich. -

Detroit Lions defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh was issued a traffic citation by a police officer who said he saw Suh driving fast and passing cars from the right lane of a suburban Detroit roadway.

The Lathrup Village officer gave Suh a ticket on Nov. 15 for driving without due care and caution.

Police Chief William Armstrong tells The Associated Press on Tuesday he's not sure the citation will hold up. The chief was awaiting a call back from the city attorney to discuss the case.

Armstrong says he watched video footage of Suh's driving that day and thinks "the charge doesn't fit."

Messages seeking comment were left for representatives of Suh and the Lions.

Suh has been accused of driving recklessly in the past. Last month, Suh was accused of sideswiping his car and driving off. But no ticket was issued. Last year, Suh was involved in a crash in Portland, Oregon. A female passenger who was injured is suing Suh.
