Livonia father dies, 2 children in critical condition after apartment fire

LIVONIA, Mich. -

A 41-year-old Livonia father has died after a fire engulfed his family's home.

The fire happened early Sunday morning at the Franklin Square Apartments -- in a complex on Lancaster Street.

A 42-year-old woman and her 2-year-old daughter were treated for minor injuries at Botsford Hospital.

Two other children, a 10-year-old and a 7-year-old, are in critical condition at the University of Michigan Hospital.

The father died from his injuries.

A cause of the fire hasn't yet been released.
