A duck with two darts in her right side was rescued earlier this month after being found in a Northville park.

The Northville Record reported the female duck was picked up by witnesses on Sept. 1 at Ford Field and taken to Breckenridge Veterinarian Clinic in Novi, where a vet removed the darts and gave the animal antibiotics.

Barbara Funke told the paper she and her son spotted the wounded duck and used a net to capture it. They took it to nearby Kara Purtell's photography studio to take a picture of the animal cruelty.

The duck was released back in a stream at the same park.
