CHESTERFIELD TOWNSHIP, Mich. -

Chesterfield Township police say a man robbed a couple at gunpoint last week in the parking lot of a Meijer's store on Gratiot Avenue.

Police say the couple agreed, apprehensively, to drive the man to Meijer's after he approached them in the parking lot of the Buffalo Wild Wings restaurant across the street. He told them his friends would pick him up at the Meijer's.

However, when they arrived at the store parking lot the man, who was sitting in the back seat of the couple's vehicle, pulled out a black handgun and demanded their belongings. They turned over their phones and cash to the man. He then fled on foot toward Gratiot Avenue.

Surveillance footage at the Buffalo Wild Wings shows the suspect enter the restaurant before he approached the couple, who had just eaten there.

He is described as black, in his early 20s and standing between 5 feet 8 and 5 feet 9 inches tall. He had a beard and mustache. He was wearing a knit skull cap, dark clothes and tan work boots.

Anyone with information on the suspect in the photo or on the couple's robbery is asked to contact the Chesterfield Police Department at 586-949-2322 or Crime Stoppers at 800-SPEAK-UP.
