Man to stand trial for break-in, shooting at Detroit home
Thelma Truesdale shot inside her home Feb. 8, police track suspect through snowy footprints
A 22-year-old Detroit man will stand trial on charges he broke into a home and shot a woman.
Terry Lyons was bound over Tuesday after being charged with assault, home invasion and other charges in connection with the Feb. 8 incident on Sussex Street.
Police said 72-year-old Thelma Truesdale told them she woke up to find a man in her home and was then shot in the arm and leg.
Police followed a trail of footprints in the snow from the Truesdale's house to a nearby vacant house and found Lyons hiding in a furnace box in the basement.
The woman is expected to be OK.
