One person was killed when a parking garage collapsed at Miami-Dade College West in Doral, Florida
The 5-story garage is collapsed about 11:40 a.m. Wednesday.
Miami-Dade Fire Rescue said the floors of the garage collapsed on top of each other.
Four people were transported to nearby hospital; three were treated on scene and released; and, two others were being brought out of the garage about 1:40 p.m. The extent of their injuries was not immediately released.
The campus has been evacuated.
Doral Police Chief Ricardo Gomez said it's believed only construction workers were inside the structure at the time. The area is closed off to students.
Officials with MDC said the garage, which was to have about 1,800 spaces, had been under construction for about five months without incident. It was to create more parking for the 5,000 students on campus.
The $24 million parking garage broke ground in February. It was expected to be completed in late December.
