A 16-year-old student in southern Michigan has been arrested after authorities say he threatened a teacher in an online posting.
Jackson County sheriff's deputies arrested the Chelsea School District student Friday morning at home in Waterloo Township, about 60 miles west of Detroit, MLive.com reports.
The sheriff's department says students and teachers aren't in danger.
The arrest comes amid increased attention to threats in Michigan and elsewhere following last week's Connecticut school massacre.
Thursday a 16-year-old Fraser High School student was charged with making a false threat of terrorism after he told classmates he would bring a gun to school.
The case is being handed in juvenile court.
