PIKEVILLE, Ky. -

A Michigan doctor and two patients have been arrested on charges that they conspired to distribute prescription painkillers in eastern Kentucky.

Operation UNITE, a regional anti-drug agency in eastern and southern Kentucky, said Friday that 45-year-old Dr. Anthony Choe of Chelsea, Mich., was arrested on his office Wednesday.

Arrested Thursday were 47-year-old Clarence D. Bentley and his wife, 46-year-old Kelly Bentley, of Albion, Mich.

Dan Smoot of Operation UNITE says the Bentleys and four other unnamed individuals are believed to have delivered thousands of pills to dealers in Pike County over the past two years.

All are charged in federal indictments with conspiracy to distribute oxycodone.

They are free on bond.
