Michigan judge moonlights in famous comic opera
Marilyn Kelly has roll in 'The Barber of Seville'
A Michigan Supreme Court justice is trading her robe for a maid's costume.
Marilyn Kelly has a role in "The Barber of Seville," which has a final run this weekend at the Detroit Opera House in downtown Detroit. Kelly plays a maid in Rossini's famous comic opera.
In one scene, Kelly puts a necklace and bracelets on Rosina while the lead female character sings. Michigan Opera Theatre posted a clip of the judge on YouTube.
Kelly says it's her first time on stage, although her dog had a role in another famous opera, "La Boheme."
Kelly's time on the Supreme Court ends in January. The 74-year-old can't run for re-election because of age restrictions.
