Michigan man who authorities say took son to South Dakota sentenced to 90 days in jail
Mark Grabowski accused of taking 11-year-old out of state without permission
A Michigan man who authorities say abducted his son and took him to South Dakota without the approval of the boy's mother has been sentenced to 90 days in jail.
Mark Grabowski of Livingston County's Hartland Township was sentenced Thursday in Circuit Court in Howell. The 53-year-old earlier pleaded guilty to unlawful retention of a child by a parent.

Grabowski told the court that he took his son to protect him. Judge David Reader told Grabowski: "What you did was just wrong."
Authorities say Grabowski took his 11-year-old son out of state in August without the permission of the boy's mother.
The FBI found Grabowski and his son following a wide-ranging search on Sept. 7 on a hunting ranch in Platte, S.D.
