DETROIT – Wednesday morning will have patchy fog to slow drivers down. The fog will be more dense in western Michigan, northern Indiana, Chicago and the rest of Illinois and Wisconsin. Factor in extra time if you are driving and stay alert.
The morning will be cool in Southeast Michigan with lows in the 30s to near 40 degrees. Students can enjoy a final day of outdoor recess before the Thanksgiving break. Last minute turkey chefs and desert cooks will have dry roads to the grocery store. Afternoon highs will be in the middle and upper 50s, which is 10 degrees above average.

America's Thanksgiving Parade can be seen live on Local 4 Thursday morning. Temperatures will be in the low and middle 40s when the parade begins. Those temps are considered delightful on an average Thanksgiving afternoon. They are spectacular for the marching bands and balloon handlers. It will be sunny, and the wind will be light to calm. Outside Ford Field, afternoon highs will be near 60. This is perfect for football fans expecting a Lions win against the Texans.
Thanksgiving evening will be mild with dry conditions for visiting relatives who are flying in or driving in for dinner. Temperatures will be in the low 50s.
Big shoppers will need their coats, hats and gloves on Black Friday. Morning temps will be in the low 40s. Afternoon highs will be in the upper 40s with more blustery conditions and scattered rain showers.
People still hunting for holiday deals Saturday and Sunday will have bright skies but cold, windy conditions. Saturday's highs will be in the upper 30s, but it will feel like freezing. Sunday's highs will be in the low 40s.
