Monroe County authorities on the lookout for knife-wielding robber

Similar descriptions given in incidents that happened Sunday, Tuesday in LaSalle Township

LASALLE TOWNSHIP, Mich. – The Monroe County Sheriff's Office say a would-be robber armed with a knife that targeted a liquor store in LaSalle Township on Tuesday could be the same person who robbed a convenience store over the weekend.

In a statement, the Sheriff's Office said a man holding a large knife enclosed in a sheath walked into Midway Liquor on South Dixie Highway and announced a robbery. But the store's clerk pulled out a gun and scared the man away. The would-be robber was seen getting into a black PT Cruiser that was being driven by someone else.
