The muzzleloader hunting season for deer is opening in parts of Michigan.
The state Department of Natural Resources says the 2012 season opens Friday in the Upper Peninsula and southern Michigan.
The season runs for 10 days in the Upper Peninsula and 17 days in southern Michigan. The 2012 muzzleloader season in the northern Lower Peninsula runs from Dec. 14-23.
