New bridge on agenda as Governor Snyder visits Canada
Governor to attend meetings all next week in Canada
The planned new bridge from Detroit to Windsor, Ontario, is on the agenda as Gov. Rick Snyder heads to Canada next week for meetings on trade and Great Lakes regional cooperation.
Snyder spokeswoman Sara Wurfel says the Republican leader will be in Toronto on Monday for a visit that will touch on the New International Trade Crossing. That project cleared a hurdle Nov. 6 when Michigan voters rejected a ballot proposal requiring a public vote before public funds can go to any new international crossings.
Other agenda items include a new Michigan-Canada trade office in partnership with the Council of Great Lakes Governors.
Later Monday, Snyder is scheduled to give a keynote address to the Canadian Council for Public-Private Partnerships.
Snyder also meets with Ontario Premier Dalton McGuinty.
