FROM NEW YORK STOCK EXCHANGE, TO SOUTH FLORIDA, TO THE NATION'S CAPITAL --
We gather as religious leaders both to commemorate the one week marker of the tragic shootings in Newtown, Connecticut...
TO THE COMMUNITY AT THE CENTER OF THE TRAGEDY. MEMORIALS AT 9-30 A-M EASTERN, MARKING ONE WEEK SINCE THE SHOOTING AT SANDY HOOK ELEMENTARY SCHOOL THAT KILLED 20 CHILDREN AND SIX ADULTS.
AS INVESTIGATORS CONTINUE TO HUNT FOR A MOTIVE AS TO WHY 20-YEAR-OLD ADAM LANZA KILLED HIS MOTHER AND LATER OPENED FIRE AT SANDY HOOK, THE NATION'S MOST PROMINENT GUN RIGHTS LOBBYING GROUP BROKE THEIR SILENCE.
THE NATIONAL RIFLE ASSOCIATION ARGUED IN A STATEMENT THAT THE NATION'S SCHOOLS SHOULD HAVE ARMED PROTECTION.

EDUCATION SECRETARY ARNE DUNCAN, IN HIS FIRST PUBLIC REMARKS SINCE THE SHOOTING, SAID THE NATION'S OVERALL GUN POLICY NEEDS CHANGE.
One disturbed young man was mad at the world. And I can't help but wonder what he might had done, how this might have been different if he didn't have access to those guns.
PRESIDENT OBAMA OBSERVED HIS OWN MOMENT OF SILENCE AT THE WHITE HOUSE -- DAYS AFTER HIS CALL FOR A CROSS-AGENCY PANEL TO ADDRESS GUN POLICY -- HOPING NO COMMUNITY HAS TO ENDURE NEWTOWN'S HEARTBREAK, AGAIN.
IN WASHINGTON, I'M KARIN CAIFA.
