Norovirus blamed for sick students, staff at high school in Dearborn Heights

School sanitized, classes back in session

DEARBORN HEIGHTS, Mich. – Health officials have confirmed that a norovirus is to blame for making nearly 200 students and a handful of staff at a Dearborn Heights school sick last week.

Annapolis High School was shut down Friday after the students and staff fell ill with symptoms similar to a stomach bug.

Cleaning crews spent the weekend scouring the school with sanitizers and classes were back in session Monday.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention offers advice to help prevent such a virus outbreak.
