Oakland County prints absentee ballots for August election

Oakland County ballots printed early to allow military to cast votes

OAKLAND COUNTY, Mich. – Absentee ballots are being printed and distributed for the August 7 primary election in Oakland County, clerk Bill Bullard announced Friday.

The ballots are being printed early to allow for military and overseas personnel to have ample time to cast their votes. They now also have the option to print and mail in their ballots remotely.

"Our staff have been working tirelessly for long hours to make sure we give voters a chance to make their voices heard," Bullard said. "There is no excuse for not giving our military heroes the chance to exercise their vote, especially as they are sacrificing so much to protect us."

Absentee ballot applications, federal post card ballots and instructions are available at www.mi.gov/sos. Voters can track their absentee ballot request on the Oakland County Clerk's site at http://www.oakgov.com/clerkrod/elections/.
