Man Dies After Being Injured In Vehicle Rollover

ORLANDO, Fla. – Police said one teenager was hurt and another may face charges after a fight outside Orange Park Mall Saturday night escalated to gunfire.

The Clay County Sheriff's Office said 10 young men, some under 18 years old, were fighting in the parking lot of the mall after it closed.

Police said a 14-year-old left the fight and returned with a gun. They said he struck a 19-year-old with the handgun, then fired a shot in the air.

The victim suffered a minor head injury and was treated at Orange Park Medical Center. Police said they were waiting to hear from doctors to see if the head injury was caused by the fight or a bullet wound.

Sheriff's spokesperson Mary Justino said said it's "fairly unusual" to have large fights at the mall. She said they were waiting for prosecutors to decide if the 14-year-old would be arrested.

"Orange Park Mall treats all incidents that allegedly occur on mall property with utmost gravity," a statement received Monday from Simon Malls said. "Orange Park Mall is committed to providing a safe, quality shopping environment for our visitors and employees."
