Overcast and wet Thursday in Detroit

Detroit downpours provide relief

DETROIT – Heavy rain in Detroit and a few thunderstorms provided at least a tenth of an inch of rain by 8 a.m. Thursday morning.

Other southeast Michigan communities received a bit more by the end of breakfast with more on the way.

The rest of Thursday morning will have light to moderate showers and temperatures remaining in the 70s.

Thursday afternoon will be wet early.

Tigers' fans should not be surprised by any game delays at Comerica Park, Ann Arbor Art Fair diehards need their ponchos and umbrellas.

With cloudy skies, high temperatures will barely reach 80 degrees.

Showers and storms become more scattered for the afternoon commute.

Friday morning may have a lingering shower, but it becomes a bit sunnier by the afternoon.  The day stays warm and comfortable with highs in the low 80s.

The weekend will be mostly sunny and warmer.  Saturday will have highs in the middle 80s.  Sunday will be near 90.
