Parole violation could land Kwame Kilpatrick back in prison
Security video shows the former mayor receiving a cash gift
Security video out of Chesterfield Township shows the unmistakable image of Kwame Kilpatrick counting out cash wired to him by a Chicago pastor. Kilpatrick was there mid-December after he wrote the pastor saying that he and his family were “hurting.”
It’s a handout that could land the former mayor right back in prison on a parole violation.
Kilpatrick’s parole officer from his obstruction of justice conviction plans to grill Kilpatrick on why he didn’t report the cash gift.
Kilpatrick has to declare any money that he receives because he still owes the city of Detroit more than $800-thousand dollars in restitution.
The Chicago pastor, Corey Brooks, is defending giving the money to Kilpatrick.
