FARMINGTON, Mich. -

Authorities say a 28-year-old man is being held in the death of his girlfriend, whose body was found inside their Farmington home after he reported her missing.

Police said the man called them Saturday night to report that 29-year-old Kaitlin Elizabeth Hehir was missing. He had told police she had dropped him off at home late Friday night and then had gone back out to a party. He then didn't hear from her.

But investigators said the man eventually told them she died after a domestic dispute turned violent. Her body was dismembered.

Farmington's Director of Public Safety Robert Schulz said Monday morning that additional information, including the condition in which the body was found, wasn't being released until the suspect is arraigned. Schulz said that might happen Tuesday.

Prosecutors were expected to review the case for possible charges. Police say Hehir worked at 47th District Court for 4 1/2 years.
