Detroit police say they've arrested a suspect in an attack at Detroit home that the left a teenager injured and the boy's 62-year-old grandfather dead.
A statement from police said a "male suspect" was in custody Thursday in the Wednesday attack following tips from the public.
Michael Villneff says his father, Vietnam veteran John Villneff, called him before he died. Michael Villneff said a gang of men beat the 16-year-old boy with a baseball bat and gun as they robbed the home, then fatally shot John Villneff as he tried to protect another grandchild from the intruders.
“He said he was dying ... I didn’t even get to tell him I loved him," he said.

That teen is Terrance Villneff. He’s a local high school football star and a senior at Robichaud High School in Dearborn Heights.
He suffered a broken jaw and cuts to his head.
