Police: Two gas stations robbed in Detroit

Both stations robbed Wednesday morning on Detroit's east side

DETROIT – Detroit police believe the AK-47 bandits have struck 2 more times.  

The latest robbery happened around 2 a.m. Wednesday at a Mobile station on Harper at Cadieux on the city's east side.

Investigators believe four men were involved in the robbery - with two men parking on the side of a near fast food restaurant in a white impala to serve as look outs.  Two other men wearing masks and carrying AK-47s went inside the gas station and demanded money from the gas station clerk.

Shortly before that gas station was robbed, police say they believe the same crew robbed the BP gas station at Seven Mile Road near I-75.

Police put the alert out in October that the same group of men – all armed with AK-47 assault rifles had been targeting gas stations and terrorizing clerks all over Detroit.

The first robbery happened October 10th.  The robbers went on to successfully rob 10 gas stations that month.
