Authorities have identified an Oakland County man whose body was found floating near shore in Lake St. Clair's Anchor Bay.

The Times Herald in Port Huron reports that an autopsy was being performed Friday on 57-year-old Scott Gordon, of Rochester Hills.

Gordon's body was found in about four feet of water about 12:30 p.m. Thursday behind the Lakeview Motel in Ira Township, about 25 miles northeast of Detroit.

St. Clair County sheriff's officials believe alcohol may have been a factor in Gordon's death.

The newspaper reports that he checked into the motel last Sunday.
