Police seeking couple who used stolen credit card in Westland stores

Police: Couple went on spending spree with stolen card at Target, Meijer in Westland

WESTLAND, Mich. – Police are looking for a man and woman who used a stolen credit card to make more than $4,000 in purchases at Target and Meijer stores in Westland.

Police say a woman shopping at Meijer on Warren Road realized her wallet was missing from her purse after leaving the store.

She called her credit card company to cancel the card but, was told it had been used to make two purchases since then.

There was also an attempt to purchase two iPads at Meijer a short time before the card was declined.

Police say a security camera at Meijer captured a man, in his 30's wearing a black fur coat and black derby hat, attempting to make the purchase.

A woman wearing what police believe is a curly brown wig was also captured on surveillance.

Police say the pair previously purchased sweaters and gift cards at Target.

Two of the gift cards were later used at other stores.
