Portland police say a 17-year-old boy threatened a school shooting in an Internet post.
Police say the teen wrote that he was going to shoot people at Wilson High School at noon Thursday.
A caller from Michigan reported the post after seeing it and the threat caused a stir in Long Beach, Calif., which also has a high school named Wilson.
Long Beach investigators determined the post was linked to a southwest Portland address.
Police spokesman Sgt. Pete Simpson says officers met the boy Thursday and determined he did not have access to a gun and no students were ever in danger.
The boy remains in the custody of his parents. The case has been sent to juvenile court.
