DETROIT -

MICHIGAN AND THE MIDWEST

Dense morning fog is a large issue Wednesday morning with near zero visibility in Grand Rapids, Kalamazoo, Battle Creek and along the Lake Michigan coastline.  Northern Indiana, Chicago and the rest of Illinois and Wisconsin have significant fog, as well.  Drivers will need to count on extra time getting through or out of these areas if they are driving or flying.

NORTHERN CALIFORNIA AND THE NORTHWEST

San Francisco and destinations north to the Canadian border will be inundated with rain and snow.  Persistent heavy rain will pound Oregon and much of western Washington, including Seattle.  The higher elevations of the northern Rockies will get mounds of snow.

THE EAST

Weather is settled for the eastern third of the United States.  Boston, New York City, Washington, DC and points in The South will have partly to mostly sunny skies and mild to warm conditions.  There will be few, if any, weather delays.

TEXAS AND THE PLAINS

Mostly dry weather will dominate the middle of the country from North Dakota to Texas.  The only hiccup is in Houston and Southeast Texas where there is dense morning fog.  The temperatures will be 10 to 20 degrees above average with highs in the 60s, 70s and 80s today.

THE SOUTHWEST

Southern California and the Southwest will be mostly dry and sunny.  New Mexico will have scattered rain showers develop.  Also, it will be warm with high temps 70 degrees or greater.
