DETROIT -

Friday morning will be cool and dry, but students and drivers need to prepare for a wet end to the day.

Temps begin in the 50s, and afternoon highs will be in the upper 70s. Rain showers with thunderstorms develop over Detroit and Southeast Michigan after 3pm.

Friday night football will be soggy with lows near 60 overnight.

Showers and thunderstorms remain in Detroit's forecast Saturday. Football fans will need ponchos and umbrellas for the Wolverine's home opening at the Big House in Ann Arbor.

Highs will be in the upper 60s.  Dressing in layers is a good idea to stay warm.  Otherwise, its a great day for the movies and the mall or getting homework done early.

Sunday will be sunnier with highs near 70.  Early next week will be bright and milder, too with daytime highs closer to 80 by next Wednesday.
