Good Samaritan robbed Roseville
ROSEVILLE, Mich. -

Roseville police said a man who stopped to help another man who claimed he was having car trouble ended up getting robbed.

Police said the victim was walking down 12 Mile Road between Callahan and Hayes roads during the early-morning hours of April 7 when he noticed a car with its hood up stopped in a driveway.

A man with the car asked for help and directed the victim to look into the engine compartment. When the victim did, he felt what he thought might have been a gun put against his ribs and the man demanded cash, police said.

When the victim handed cash over the robber, he was then pushed to the ground and kicked several times.

The victim was treated for minor injuries.

Police describe the robber as a white man in his mid-20s to early 30s, short dirty blond hair with a goatee, about 5 feet 9 inches tall to 5 feet 11 inches tall and between 170 and 190 pounds. He was wearing a gray oversized hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans and white Nike "Air Force One" sneakers.

The robber's car was a light gray mid-to-late 90s Ford Taurus or Mercury Sable. It had an orange Detroit Tigers style old English "D" sticker on the lower driver side rear window.

Anyone with information is asked to call Roseville police at 586-447-4493.
