Roseville police say two men who were arrested Sunday in connection with a robbery at a Radio Shack are part of a bigger crime ring targeting cell phone stores in southeast Michigan.
Police said the alarm at the Radio Shack in the Eastgate Shopping Center went off Sunday at about 7:30 a.m. and four men were seen fleeing the scene -- two in a tan Chevy TrailBlazer and two in a gray Volkswagen.
Officers were able to catch up to the suspects on eastbound I-94 but terminated the chase for safety reasons.
Tips from witnesses in Detroit led police to a house on Carrie Street, where two men had parked the Volkswagen and fled on foot.
Police caught them hiding in a nearby parking lot.
The other two men in the TrailBlazer are still on the run.
Police said they found about 50 cell phones and a cash drawer stolen from the Radio Shack.
The two men in custody are a 21-year-old and 27-year-old from Detroit. They're expected to be arraigned Monday on charges not only related to the Roseville incident, but several other similar crimes in metro Detroit.
Roseville police say their working with several other area police departments on the crime ring.
