A prosecutor has told a jury that a pregnant, Saginaw-area woman whose body was found with an extension cord around her neck "did not commit suicide."
MLive.com reports that Saginaw County Chief Assistant Prosecutor Jeffrey D. Stroud said Tuesday during opening arguments in Kenneth Bluew's murder trial that the suspended police officer made Jennifer Webb's death "look like something else."
The 37-year-old Bluew is charged with first-degree murder and assault related to the death of Webb's unborn child.
Bluew and another Buena Vista police officer found Webb's body in August 2011 hanging by the cord from her vehicle's roof rack.
Webb's parents told investigators Bluew was the father of Webb's unborn child.
Defense attorney Rod O'Farrell told the jury that Webb had hoped Bluew would leave his wife.
