Oakland County Sheriff's Department cracks down on dog fighting in Pontiac
The Oakland County Sheriff's Department cracked down on dog fighting Wednesday in the city of Pontiac.
The Sheriff's Department has also cracked down on people who are in violation of a Pontiac city ordinance that limits the amount of dogs per household to three.
Sheriff's deputies confiscated items used to train dogs to fight and removed several dogs from homes and put them in the care of a local shelter. Several of the dogs had wounds from fighting.
Sheriff Michael Bouchard said some of the dogs were so malnourished they could barely walk.
If you are aware of dog fighting happening in Pontiac or people ignoring the ordinance you are asked to contact the Oakland County Sheriff's Department.
