Sources: Bob Bashara has girlfriend who wife recently learned about

Sources say Jane Bashara recently found about her husband's affair

GROSSE POINTE PARK, Mich. – Multiple sources have confirmed with Local 4 that Bob Bashara has a girlfriend.

Sources say Bashara was having an affair with the woman, something his late wife, Jane Bashara, recently found out about.

Jane Bashara, 56, was found dead Jan. 25 in her sports utility vehicle parked in a Detroit alley. An autopsy showed the cause of death was strangulation.

Police have named Bob Bashara a person of interest in his wife's murder.

Now, new information has been revealed about the couple's relationship.

Sources say Bashara and his girlfriend were often seen around Metro Detroit, and if they were trying to keep their relationship secret, they were doing a bad job.

Many close to the Bashara family knew about what started as a secret relationship. Local 4 has also learned that police have questioned the woman, asking her if she thinks Bob Bashara played a role in his wife's murder.

The Local 4 Defenders learned of Bob Bashara's secret life in the S&M and bondage world.

"There are so many people that if you're lifestyle is different from their lifestyle, you're a bad person and you must be guilty of whatever somebody might allege," said Bashara's attorney, David Griem.

Griem would not confirm the affair or alternative lifestyle.

In addition to the affair, a woman who claims she was a "slave" to Bob Bashara told the Local 4 Defenders that she knew him intimately and that he invited her into his sex dungeon in the basement of a building he owns -- the Hard Luck Lounge in Grosse Pointe.

The Hard Luck Lounge released the following statement on Thursday:

"We felt it was important to let the community know that we were just tenants at Mr. Bashara's building. Although Mr. Bashara has a space in the basement of the building we are unaware of what is kept in that space. He had no access to our basement space and we had no access to his as these were separate locked areas."
