Special needs home firebombing kills 1, injures others
Nine people were inside the home when the fire started
One person is dead and three others are hospitalized in critical condition after a firebombing at a special needs home on Detroit's east side.
A black vehicle drove up to the home - which is in the 11000 block of Kenmoor Street - Sunday morning and threw a Molotov cocktail at it, police said. The house was engulfed in flames. Nine people were inside the home when the fire started.
The firebombing killed one person and sent several others to nearby hospitals. At least three people are in critical condition as of Sunday morning. Multiple people at the home had special needs.
Firefighters had to go inside the house to rescue victims by carrying them out of the home.
Arson investigators are talking to survivors to try to figure out what happened, said Detroit Police Department Commander Steve Dolunt.
