Sports Illustrated is joining the national conversation swirling around Monday's bombings at the Boston Marathon.

This week, the magazine's cover will feature an image that captured the chaotic scene at the finish line, mere moments after bomb number two ripped through the crowd at 3:05 p.m.

Photos of the new issue started to make the rounds on Tuesday.

The cover shows a marathoner on the ground, and four Boston police officers in mid action, rushing in mutable directions to help others.

The photo was taken by John Tlumacki of the Boston Globe, who was at the finish line to capture images of runners.

The man in that photo is 78-year-old Bill Iffrig, who was only a few feet away from the blast that knocked him to the ground.
