DETROIT -

Detroit police broke up a a group of approximately 500 people in Eastern Market Sunday night when a car show turned into drag racing.

The car show was being called 'East-West Car and Bike Show' but it was not permitted.

The initial wave of cops was not large enough to move the crowd. So when the second wave came in, an arrest was made and the crowd slowly dissipated.

"A couple people came down here and was burning rubber in the street and acting a fool and that's not what my car show is about, it's not what we promote, we're not a drag racing car show, nothing like that," says K. D. Mann, the show's organizer.
