Grimson Middle School sends letter to parents warning of stranger danger incident

STERLING HEIGHTS, Mich. -

Grimson Middle School sent home a letter to parents warning of a potential stranger danger involving a student on Friday.

The letter says a female student on her way to school in Sterling Heights was followed by a man driving a white cargo van with no windows.

The incident happened shortly after 7 a.m. in the area of Chicago Road and Wixson Drive in the city of Warren.

The man, described as light skinned with dark hair, got out of his van and approached the girl.

The girl yelled to other students in the area and the man returned to his van and left.

"We are proud of our students for using safe judgment," wrote Principal Joseph Konal in the letter.

Police are investigating the incident.
