Teen struck by train in Wyandotte

Police say victim may have been wearing headphones, didn't hear train whistle

WYANDOTTE, Mich. – Wyandotte police said in a news release Tuesday night that a 14-year-old boy was struck by a train at Oak Street near 9th Street.

Police said the teen, Jacob Marion, of Wyandotte, was walking northbound on the railroad tracks while wearing headphones.

A CN Railroad train traveling 28 miles per hour hit Marion and dragged him.

The train's engineer blew the whistle several times, police said.

Marion was taken via Life-Flight to Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit where he was undergoing surgery for serious injuries.
